幼い頃は砂浜で拾った貝殻や石、ガラスの破片などが、かけがえのない宝ものでした。
土産物店に並ぶ可愛いなおもちゃ、焼き貝の匂い、空を飛ぶ鳶の姿、漁船のペンキの剥げた色・・
すべてが、楽しくキラキラ輝いて見えたのです。
青い海、青い空、汐の匂い、風や波の音、そこに立って見えるもの、感じるもの、すべての風景が描きたいと思ったとき、
次第に船のカタチなどは消えていき、絵の具のうねりや強く青い色、飛び跳ねるしぶきとなって、
画面は抽象的に表現されるようになりました。
人は生きてきた環境や経験、すべての記憶をもって今見えているものを感じることができるのです。
そういったすべてのことを含めた風景というものを描きたいと思っています。
作品を作ることは、日々の日記のようなものです。言葉で表現できない自分の世界を作品を通じて表現したい。
だから、描くときは自分に正直でありたいと思っています。「絵」は語るものではなく、「絵」が語るものであるのだから。
